St Joe's Diabetes Workshops
2010 DIABETES WORKSHOPS The two fantastic 4 hour workshops will be offered on:
Thursday, April 22nd AND REPEATED on Thursday, June 10th Saint Joseph Office Park Keeneland Health Education Center Chase Room Sign in will begin at 7:45a.m.! A delicious LUNCH will be provided for those attending both sessions.
Understanding Diabetes Basics
TIME: 0800 – 12N
This offering is designed for nurses, dietitians & other interested healthcare professionals. Topics to be discussed include Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, acute and chronic complications, diabetes medications and insulin as well as the nutritional management of the patient with diabetes.
Care of the Hospitalized Patient with Hyperglycemia
TIME: 1PM – 5PM
This offering is designed for nurses, dietitians & other healthcare professionals who have taken a basic diabetes course. The focus of this workshop is on various methods of inpatient hyperglycemia management, special situations as TPN, steroids, and insulin pumps as well as patient medical nutrition.
